Our Commitment to the Local Farming Community

Lisa Arose Lifestyle Design is committed to supporting local farmers and artisans.  Whenever possible, we create seasonal menus and source ingredients from local producers.

Here are a few of our favorite local and sustainable resources in Northwest Ohio.

Toledo Choose Local
Toledo Choose Local is a coalition of people from local businesses and non-profits, concerned citizens and government representatives working together to strengthen the viability and competitiveness of local businesses in the Toledo area, and to promote the overall social, economic, and environmental health of our economy and communities.

Slow Food Maumee Valley
As a local chapter of Slow Food USA, Slow Food Maumee Valley carries out the Slow Food mission here in Northwest Ohio. They offer educational events and activities to promote sustainability and biodiversity and connect farmers, cooks, educators, students and everyone else who cares about their food and the environment.

Toledo GROWs
Toledo GROWs is the community gardening outreach program of Toledo Botanical Garden. GROWs is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to the continued growth and success of community-based gardens in the city of Toledo and throughout NW Ohio.

DIG Local (Dedicated Independent Growers)
DIG Local is a volunteer, grassroots effort between farmers and consumers located in Northwest Ohio, with the goal of getting more people to buy food directly from farmers. They do this through the support of local farmer’s markets, CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) subscriptions, and education.  This site links you to many local growers.
